“Is it the world that’s busy, or is it my mind?”
The world moves fast, but that doesn’t mean we have to. In this bestselling mindfulness guide—it has sold more than three million copies in Korea, where it was a #1 bestseller for forty-one weeks and received multiple Best Book of the Year awards, and it's being published in more than 20 countries—Haemin Sunim (which means “spontaneous wisdom”), a renowned Buddhist meditation teacher born in Korea and educated in the United States, illuminates a path to inner peace and balance amid the overwhelming demands of everyday life.
By offering guideposts to well-being and happiness in eight areas—including relationships, love, and spirituality—Haemin Sunim emphasizes the importance of forging a deeper connection with others and being compassionate and forgiving toward ourselves. The more than twenty full-color illustrations that accompany his teachings serve as calming visual interludes, encouraging us to notice that when you slow down, the world slows down with you.

Be the silent observer of your self
By Hande Z
It is true that in the hustle and bustle of life we have no time to reflect. The sayings contained in this book are things we can see and understand only when we make time for them. Even though many of the things made out in this book are what we might ourselves see, this book is a useful first step. We need to at least take time off our hurry to read and enjoy the book.
The book is full of helpful thoughts that one welcomes when one is relaxed and keeps a peaceful, open, mind. An example is, 'Even the most beautiful music gets tiresome if I listen to it constantly. But if I listen to it after some time away, it becomes wonderful again. The problem is not the music itself. It is my relationship with it.' Another is, 'Please don't call it love. What you are experiencing is infatuation with no commitment or responsibility'.
Furthermore, each segment is preceded with a short discussion. The segment on ‘Being Right Isn’t Important; Being Happy Together is’ begins with a discussion on our personal thoughts and beliefs and why we ought to spend time with people who do not share our beliefs. [If no] one feels they are being heard or respected, and what remains is mostly anger, confusion and hurt.’
